Gaming PC support

Gaming PC support, repairs, and upgrades

Diagnosis and practical help for gaming PCs that overheat, crash, stutter, or need a carefully planned upgrade.

Gaming PC services

Performance & stability

Crashes, stuttering, thermal throttling, driver problems, background software, and system stability testing.

Cooling & compatible upgrades

RAM, SSD, GPU, power-supply, fan, and cooling upgrades selected around compatibility and actual need.

Builds & component installation

Build planning, assembly, component installation, cable management, setup, and post-build checks.

Approval before hardware changes

Parts are not ordered and hardware changes are not made until the proposed work and cost have been approved.

Performance improvements depend on the diagnosed bottleneck, component compatibility, temperatures, software, and workload. Lift IT does not promise a specific FPS increase without evidence supporting it.

Not currently offered

Phone repairs, competitive overclocking services, data recovery, or work intended to bypass manufacturer or platform security controls.

Common gaming PC problems

  • Overheating and thermal throttling under load
  • Random shutdowns or restarts while gaming
  • Stuttering, frame drops and inconsistent performance
  • Blue screens and graphics driver crashes
  • Loud fans or poor case airflow
  • Storage filling up and slow game load times
  • A power supply that cannot handle the current build
  • A PC that became unstable after a part was changed

Diagnose before you upgrade

It is easy to spend money on the wrong part. I test first — temperatures, stability, storage health and power headroom — then explain what is actually limiting your performance. Sometimes a single change fixes it; sometimes the honest answer is that the current platform is not worth upgrading.

Upgrades and compatibility

  • Memory upgrades matched to the board and CPU
  • SSD and NVMe storage additions or replacements
  • Graphics card upgrades, including power supply and clearance checks
  • Cooling improvements and case airflow
  • Firmware and driver updates where they are needed
  • Stability testing after any hardware change

What gaming PC support costs

  • Workshop and on-site labour: $90 per hour, one-hour minimum
  • Assessment: $50, credited when you proceed with the recommended work
  • Parts are quoted separately and approved before ordering

See the full published rates. If your machine is fine but noisy or slow in one game, say so in your enquiry — that detail often points straight at the cause.

What actually limits gaming performance

  • Processor and graphics card balance — one often holds the other back
  • Thermal throttling when cooling cannot keep up under sustained load
  • Memory speed, capacity and whether it is running in dual channel
  • Storage type, especially when games stream from a mechanical drive
  • Power supply headroom, particularly after a graphics card change
  • Driver versions, background software and overlay tools

What to prepare before a gaming PC job

  • Note which games or tasks trigger the problem, and the settings used
  • Record any error message or blue screen code, even a phone photo
  • List any recent hardware or software changes
  • Back up saves and anything else you cannot replace
  • Tell me if the machine has ever been overclocked or tuned by software
