Scheduled, non-urgent IT support in your home. If a computer problem is easier to solve in person, Lift IT can come to you across Henderson and nearby Auckland — for home computers, laptops and gaming PCs.
Every job starts with a plain-English conversation about what is actually going wrong, followed by a clear scope and cost before any work begins. Not every fault needs a visit, so I will tell you if a remote session or an arranged drop-off would suit better.
What at-home support covers
- Laptops and desktop computers that are slow, unreliable or will not start
- Windows and macOS software faults, updates and setup
- Wi-Fi, broadband and printer problems at home
- New-computer setup, file transfer and sign-in checks
- Virus and unwanted-software removal
- Storage, memory and component upgrades where the machine supports it
- Gaming PC troubleshooting, overheating and crash diagnosis
What is not covered
- Phones and tablets — Lift IT supports computers only
- Urgent or after-hours callouts — support is scheduled and non-urgent
- Work outside the agreed scope — that needs approval before it starts
How at-home support works
- Describe the problem. Send the symptoms, the device, your suburb and the best way to reach you through the contact form.
- Get a recommendation. I review the details and explain the likely scope, support method and likely cost.
- Approve the work. No material changes, extra labour or parts purchases happen without your approval.
- Appointment day. I attend at the agreed time, work within the agreed scope and test the fix with you.
- Clear handover. You get a plain-English explanation of the work and anything still worth doing.
At-home rates
- On-site labour: $90 per hour, one-hour minimum
- Call-out: $40 within approximately 20 km of Henderson
- Further addresses: travel and call-out quoted individually before booking
- Assessment: $50 for an arranged assessment, credited when you proceed with the recommended work
Prices are in New Zealand dollars. See the full rates for remote, drop-off and on-site support, and note that sending an enquiry does not create a confirmed booking.
Not sure whether you need a visit?
Not every fault needs someone at your house. Software, email, Microsoft 365 and configuration problems are often solved faster in a remote session, and repairs, upgrades and longer testing can suit an arranged drop-off. Compare the three support modes, or describe the problem and I will recommend the option that fits.
Frequently asked
Do you charge a call-out fee?
Yes — $40 within approximately 20 km of Henderson, charged in addition to hourly labour. Addresses further away are quoted individually before booking.
Is there a minimum charge?
On-site and workshop labour has a one-hour minimum. Remote support has a 30-minute minimum, then 30-minute increments.
Do I need to back up first?
Yes, wherever possible. Hardware can fail without warning, and existing data cannot be guaranteed during repair work.
Do you provide urgent or after-hours support?
No. Lift IT provides scheduled, non-urgent support. Enquiries are normally answered within one business day, which is a response target rather than a guarantee of availability.
Do you cover my suburb?
On-site support is generally available within approximately 20 km of Henderson. Send your suburb with your enquiry and I will confirm.
